Testimonials

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for not making me feel silly. This phobia of needles causes me a great deal of anxiety but it also makes it worse when I need to worry how others perceive me. But you were really friendly and incredibly professional. Thank you so much."

Information for patients

What is Sedation?

Sedation is when drugs are given to you, usually through a plastic tube placed in your arm or hand. These drugs make you relaxed and unaware of your surroundings. You will not be unconscious, like in general anaesthesia, but you will have little knowledge or memory of the treatment.

How does the process work?

1. When you have decided that a sedation is right for you, your dentist will contact me.

2. I will arrange a convenient time for us to chat over the telephone (usually in the evening)

3. On the day of sedation I will be with you the entire time, constantly administering the sedation, monitoring you and making sure you are comfortable.

4. You will be sent home with instructrions given to your escort. You will have my mobile number in case you have any worries or problems that evening.

FAQ's

Will I be asleep?

You will not be put to sleep, but you will feel relaxed and sleepy. Many patients do sleep beacause they are so comfortable. You will not feel any pain during the treatment.

Is it safe?

Yes sedation is very safe when delivered on appropriate patients by experienced practitioners such as myself.

Can I eat before hand?

Yes, you can eat up to 2 hours beforehand

Do I need to bring someone with me and have them take me home?

Yes, you need to bring a responsible adult with you as you wont be safe to go home alone.

When can I work and drive again?

You should not drive or work for the first 24 hours after your sedation.

Any further questions you may have will be answered on our telephone call.

Testimonials

"Having practiced for many years as a sedationist and simultaneous operator, I underestimated just how difficult my working life was getting. I am now free to concentrate on the treatment I am providing only and not the general patient management."
